Now, before I post the blog, I want to make it quite clear that I am not against any one religions because of my religion. I try to get a better understanding of what people's beliefs are.
Hand-in-Hand?

Does the Bible speak of the Koran (Qur’an)? I am Catholic, but I do bring you some questions on this issue. The Bible, of course, does not come out and actually say the word “Koran”, but does it heavily imply it? Also, another question to ponder (in relation to the Bible referring to the Koran) is if, “Paraclete”/comforter, is describing Muhammad? I will let you decide.
Alright, this has been brought to my attention, claiming that the Koran has been mentioned in the Bible:
Isaiah 28:10-11
10 For it is:
Do and do, do and do,
rule on rule, rule on rule [a] ;
a little here, a little there.”
11 Very well then, with foreign lips and strange tongues
God will speak to this people,
28:10(possibly meaningless sounds; perhaps a mimicking of the prophet’s words also in verse 13
28:13 states: So then, the word of the LORD to them will become:
Do and do, do and do,
rule on rule, rule on rule;
a little here, a little there—
so that they will go and fall backward,
be injured and snared and captured.
This hasn’t really convinced me, but I guess, considering the way these Muslims speak is in such weird tongues, and of spitting everywhere like Camels. We move on….
There is claim that John, chapters 14-16, describes a new prophet that follows behind Jesus. Some Islamic readers have interpreted this to be Muhammad. However, if you read closely, you will find that he is not speaking of such.
John 14:17
15″If you love me, you will obey what I command. 16And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever— 17the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be[c] in you.
John 14:28-29
28″You heard me say, ‘I am going away and I am coming back to you.’ If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I. 29I have told you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe.
I highlighted the items I did, because the person Jesus was referring to was himself through the Holy Spirit. So, where did Muhammad come in? Is this where it gets a little tricky?
Deuteronomy 18:17-18
17 The LORD said to me: “What they say is good. 18 I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers; I will put my words in his mouth, and he will tell them everything I command him.
Tricky? Coming from the old testament, before Christ was mentioned, this, of course, shows you no name. Could it be Muhammad? Maybe, but who is to say it is? Then again, who is to say it isn’t?
I’m not high on Islamic belief. However, I do know that true Islamic people are of no harm. If they actually do what their book tells them to do.
For instance:
Sura [5:68]
Say, “O people of the scripture, you have no basis until you uphold the Torah, and the Gospel, and what is sent down to you herein from your Lord.” For sure, these revelations from your Lord will cause many of them to plunge deeper into transgression and disbelief. Therefore, do not feel sorry for the disbelieving people.
This is from the Koran, and it speaks of the Bible. It is simply saying that you must believe in the Bible before moving into the belief of the Koran. The disbelieving people they speak of, are the non-believers of God.
Sura [29:46]
Do not argue with the people of the scripture (Jews, Christians, and Muslims) except in the nicest possible manner - unless they transgress - and say, “We believe in what was revealed to us and in what was revealed to you, and our god and your god is one and the same; to Him we are submitters.”
This is the belief that we are one religion, and of one God. With that said, why are the extremist claiming a Jihad?
Al-Maidah 5:33
The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger, and strive with might and main for mischief through the land is: execution, or crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands and feet from opposite sides, or exile from the land: that is their disgrace in this world, and a heavy punishment is theirs in the Hereafter…
But wait! I thought we were of ONE God! If Allah is God, and we have the SAME God, then how are we waging war against Allah? What sense does this make? They kill for Allah, but we have the same God. This isn’t a war against Allah! This is a war against a tyrant, and a man who plotted an attack against us. This makes the Islamic thought of Jihad void.
Yes, but wait, in their book is contradiction. So are they of no harm, really? Yes, I stated that they are of no harm if they do what their book tells them! However, their book, then, leads them in a different direction.
Sura 5:77-78
Say, “O people of the scripture, do not transgress the limits of your religion beyond the truth, and do not follow the opinions of people who have gone astray, and have misled multitudes of people; they are far astray from the right path.”
Condemned are those who disbelieved among the Children of Israel, by the tongue of David and Jesus, the son of Mary. This is because they disobeyed and transgressed.
What is going on here? Jesus and Mary were just teaching the word of God, and now they are false? They disobeyed? You just said that you shall not argue with Christians or Jews. Well, you did say that, but you said it could be an argument in the “nicest possible manner”. So, a Jihad is the “nicest possible manner”? I’m not quite sure if I understand. However, I wasn’t grown to understand what you believe. I was grown to believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins.
So, I said this was a war to take out a tyrant?
Sura 4:76
Those who believe are fighting for the cause of GOD, while those who disbelieve are fighting for the cause of tyranny. Therefore, you shall fight the devil’s allies; the devil’s power is nil.
So, America comes in and topples a tyrant, and we are the bad guys. Funny, because Bush said he felt that God led him into believing we belonged in Iraq.
“Bush believes he was called by God to lead the nation at this time, says Commerce Secretary Don Evans, a close friend who talks with Bush every day.” -USA Today
#
http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2003-04-01-bush-cover_x.htmThat would mean that we fight for the cause of God. So, the question is, who are the real followers of God? I mean, we took out a tyrant, and Islamic people blow us up. Those who disbelieve in God are fighting for the cause of tyranny. That leads me to believe that those killing themselves, and fighting the American’s, are the non-believers. So, does that mean that we (America) are fighting the devil’s allies? It’s in your book, Muslims, you tell me!
Religion debates can be awful, but in this case the Koran is shown to be very contradictory. I read what I see, and interpret what my mind converts it into. Maybe I am being to biased, because of my religious background, but there is no way that this religion is balanced. That could also lead us to the question of why so many are converting to Islamic belief?
